Sift into mixing bowl all ingredients in first column. Add shortening, the 2/3 c. milk, and vanilla. Beat with electric mixer 2 minutes. Add eggs and remaining milk. Beat 2 more minutes. | |||
Bake at 350 deg. for about 30 minutes in two greased and floured 8" layer pans. | |||

1/3 c. milk
