Cream together the margarine, sugar, brown sugar and egg. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Fold in by hand the nuts, chocolate bits and vanilla.

Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Make dough into balls the size of a <u>small</u> walnut. Bake at 350 deg. for 15-20 minutes, until pale golden brown around edges and on bottom. Makes about 3 dozen.
