      CRUMB MIXTURE                             FILLING

3/4 c. soft margarine                          2-1/2 c. raisins
1 c. brown sugar (light)                      1/2 c. sugar
1-3/4 c. sifted flour                            2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. salt                                      3/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. baking soda                          3 tbsp. lemon juice (1 lemon)
1-1/2 C. rolled oats


Filling: Put all ingredients into saucepan. Cook over low heat until thick, about 5 minutes. Stir constantly. Use as directed below.

Crumb Mixture: Mix margarine and brown sugar. Sift flour and salt and baking soda, and blend into first mixture. Add oats and mix well. Press half of mixture into greased 9x13" pan. Spread on filling. Pat on rest of crumbs.

Bake at 375 deg. 20-30 minutes, until lightly browned. Cut into bars.
