Chocolate Longies

5 tbsp. shortening or margarine          1-3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar                                         1/2 c. milk
2 eggs                                              1 tsp. vanilla
1-1/3 c. sifted cake flour                    2 squares baking chocolate, melted
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to the creamed mixture. Stir in melted chocolate.

Pour into well greased corn stick pans. Bake at 350 deg. for 15-20 minutes. Turn out onto racks to cool. Frost with fudge icing (same as for chocolate eclairs) so that the flat side is the bottom of the longies.

This recipe makes 21 longies.
