All Bran Raisin Muffins

1 c. Kellogg's All-Bran               1 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. milk                               2-1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg                                      1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. soft margarine                1/4 c. sugar
or shortening                           1 c. seedless raisins

Combine All-Bran and milk; let stand until most of the moisture is taken up. Add egg and shortening; beat well.  Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar; mix in raisins. Add to first mixture, stirring only until combined. Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full.  
Bake at 400 deg. about 20 minutes.

Makes 12 muffins.

NOTE: To make Old Fashioned Bran Muffins just omit the raisins. Can use 1/2 c. chopped cooked prunes instead of raisins if desired.
