Geraldine's Divinity

Whites of 3 small eggs or 2 large ones
3 cups granulated sugar                  2/3 cup white corn syrup
1 cup water                                    1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
1 tsp. vanilla                                  1 cup chopped nuts

Beat egg whites until stiff. Let sit while you cook the rest of the ingredients.

Put sugar, water and syrup into pan and stir constantly until it starts to boil. Cook until it spins a thread from the spoon. Pour slowly over beaten egg whites, beating constantly with electric mixer or with spoon until it starts to become thick, add almond and vanilla flavoring and nuts. Then continue beating until it forms stiff peaks when dropped from a spoon onto wax paper.
